 *Job Description:*
The client is looking for an energetic, creative individual for their
fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. As a WebLogic Administrator you
will provide working leadership and technical support for the client’s
online course offerings.  We are seeking a value-motivated, inventive
technologist who can make things happen. This opportunity is for someone of
a consultative mindset, who can proactively recommend ways to
most-effectively leverage WebLogic technology in this LMS environment.

The Learning Management System (LMS) used by the client includes WebLogic,
RedHat Linux as well as other third party applications/systems that make up
the technical infrastructure. Job responsibilities include working with the
application support staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems, designing,
implementing and maintaining all aspects of the WebLogic/LMS system, and
coordinating all infrastructure related efforts with the system
administration and database administration staff.

 *General Summary:*
•Take responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the WebLogic
environment
•Assist in the evaluation and research of hardware/system and 3rd party
software and conduct feasibility studies to determine appropriate solutions
•Communicate well with users, application specialists, developers, technical
infrastructure staff and project management through all phases of
development and support
•Carry out duties in a manner consistent with a complex, diverse, dynamic
hardware and software environment that serves a multi-campus university
community
•Interact effectively (verbally, written, etc.) with users, vendors and
management to ensure the delivery and use of application is consistent with
agreed upon project goals
•Continue development of skills and expertise in present and emerging
technologies by participating in formal training when possible and by
independent self-teaching and tutorials
•On-Call support is required and included as part of the compensation

 *General Summary:*
•Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in information systems,
computer science or related field.
•5-7 years demonstrated Application Development or Support experience with
the following focus: WebLogic, RedHat and Java, J2EE experience
•Proven experience deploying WebLogic architectures, weblogic upgrades,
performance tuning
•Familiarity with Unix and Microsoft Windows at a system administration
level
•3-5 demonstrated progressive experience using Oracle Databases and SQL
query tools
•Solid interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with people of all
levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied
organizational relationships
•Ability to think clearly and take best course of action in high-pressure
situations
•Ability to change focus and change direction as business needs change.
Ability to multi-task
•Extensive experience planning, designing and implementing necessary changes
to production and non-production WebLogic clusters
•Significant experience supporting WebLogic servers for production mission
critical applications
•Extensive Unix and Linux experience. Sun Solaris and RedHat preferred
•Significant experience on Apache Tomcat
•Familiarity with several technology tiers, e.g., storage, database,
application and web
•Shell, Expect, Perl and WLST scripting experience
