*Location: Gaithersburg, MD* *Rate: Can pay up to $60 to $65 * Skills: *oracle 10g, oracle 11g, sql server, RAC, dataguard, shell / korn / perl scripting* *Responsibilities:* · Responsible for design, development, implementation and administration of database architecture that support business objectives. Performs creation of database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, and packages. · Performs tuning, database administration, troubleshooting required of Oracle and Microsoft SQLServer database environments. · Responsible for logical and physical design of Oracle and Microsoft SQLServer databases and database servers. · Responsible for the design and maintenance of backup (business continuity) databases. · Responsible for maintaining operational stability, enforcing security measures, testing, developing, and deploying new database servers and databases following our ITIL Standards and change management process. · Properly develops and maintains runbooks for database management. · Creates and maintains operational and support documentation. · Ensures the integrity and security of Oracle databases and database servers. · Conducts system troubleshooting analysis and development to keep databases current with changing technologies. · Responsible for emergency response as needed to correct system failures by participating in an on-call rotation if necessary. · Serves as key technical resource for team, providing advice, training and technical support for various projects and day to day operations. *Related** **Experience:* · Minimum 4 years Oracle administration experience. · Microsoft SQLServer administration experience. · Experienced with extensive logical and physical database design. · Experience with Oracle on AIX platforms. · Experience with designing and implementing deployments in business critical datacenter environment.* * · Experienced with the design and maintenance of backup databases using a variety of techniques including DataGuard and other physical and logical mirroring strategies. *Knowledge / Skill / Ability:* · Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally. · Demonstrated success with administrative and organizational skills. · Ability to manage time with regards to completing projects and other deliverables. · Ability to work productively in teams; experience prioritizing tasks. · Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance. · Excellent problem solving skills. · Expert in Oracle 10/11g. · Experienced with high availability RAC configurations. · Expert in administrative scripting with Korn, bash, or PERL scripts. · Experienced in database-level security procedures and industry standards. · Experienced at diagnosing and remedying serious database related problems and failures promptly and effectively.
