-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I remember that there was a general Searcher interface, with the standard IndexSearcher as subclass, plus some subclass that enabled RMI-based remote access to an index. In the case you used Searcher in your codebase, the code was independent from acessing an index locally or remotely. Further, with the wrapping searcher/reader classes (MultiSearcher if I remember right), there was the possibility to mix local and remote index instances to one synthetic searcher object.
I know these classes are gone for years - but what is the official solution for this scenario in current Lucene versions? Thanks!
