Please first go subscribe to the dev@ list with the email you used to send the message below - see <http://lucene.apache.org/core/discussion.html#developer-lists> - then let me know when you’ve done that.
You don’t need to be online every day - just make a habit of dealing with the MODERATE emails you get on a regular basis. The system is set up so that multiple people have the same responsibility, the idea being that one of us will deal with the non-spam in a timely fashion, even though none of us is online all the time.
