In the past this was set by the IndexWriter (maxFieldLength) and the default was 10K; as I understand it this is no longer the case, in fact it is now unlimited by default? Anyway, what is the best way we can do this? I have found some references to a class called LimitTokenCountFilter, but I believe it is only found in later versions.
