It's not like we have answers for everything. ;) If it's the same GC on both and there is still a slowdown then something else may be causing it -- hard to tell without doing trial-and-error. There is a set of performance benchmarks; perhaps you could run these and see if there's a difference (on the same hardware, with two different VMs set with the same GC options).
