Hi David,
The simplest workaround is to change the first number in the
IndexColorModel constructor to "8". I'm not sure if that is
what you were talking about with your workaround. This was
reported here before, but I don't think I've seen a bug submitted.
I'll forward your message to the people who are combing the lists
for bug reports...
