The Area class in the 2D API does use floating point (doubles to be
precise) for all operations including reading the geometry out of the
Shape arguments and the internal calculations.
I'm not sure why you got the impression that it was dealing with
integers. If you send me a pointer to where you heard that, I will
try to fix the documentation...
