I should clarify my earlier statement:

Fullscreen mode should work as advertised in general on the current
Beta release of jdk 1.4. The only known problem (which has been
recently fixed and should be in the Beta2 release) is:
- Windows2000 does not support switching display modes.
Fullscreen mode should work fine if the display
mode setting option is not used (so the app will simply run
in fullscreen mode in the current display mode).
