[JAVA2D] Any body has tried to raw image data?

Well, I am thesis student for Remote sensing.  I am trying to load data from raw data image.  The raw data files are binary files as BIP, BIL or BSQ.  Has anybody tried to load that data?  I have in mind to use the Raster class and ColorModel.  The thing is I have been stucked in I/O from the file also.
