I doubt if downloading the dirextX 6 version of J3D will solve your 
problems. 

I was running the dirextX6 version under Win98 and I had the same 
problems with my CL TNT. The problems also cropped up with the OPENGL 
version.

I guess it is an unaddressed problem with the Creative TNT drivers as a 
whole.
