Hi there,
we have installed Java3D on solaris. Running the
demo software (e.g the GearTest or HelloUniverse) works fine,
if we use the console monitor. However, if we set the display to another
(OpenGL) display (e.g. from SGI or Exceed 3D), the demo software fails.
Either the program crashes or an empty, black
window is shown. Any other OpenGL software (e.g. Sun's
/usr/openwin/demo/GL/ogl_install_check) works on any displays.
What's wrong?

Technical details:
------------------
- Java3D 1.1 (java3d1_1-solaris-jdk.bin)
- JDK 1.2 (or 2) production release for solaris
- Solaris 2.6 with OpenGL 1.1.2 on a Sun UltraSparc 60
- latest patches (SunSolve Fall 98) have been installed.
- OpenGL 1.1 compatible X server (SGI Irix 6.5, WinNT with Exceed 3D
6.0)
