Hello everyone,

I'm happy to announce that Universal Media has been mirrored in the
United States as well as Spain. In addition to the Textures now
available, each site hosts the entire VRML99 "Sneak Peek" contents
handed out at that conference.

Each site includes the "World Altering" contest announcement that
everyone is free to take part in (even if you simply use the textures
now available as you would any normal texture -- no need to try hooking
up with URNs; just stitch any of these textures into your existing VRML,
Java3D or MPEG4 world and enter the contest for a good chance at winning
one of over 200 prizes).

The table of contents and link to each site follow:

The Spain mirror was kindly arranged by Alejandro Garca-Alonso
(http://www.sc.ehu.es/ccwgamoa/agalonso.htm) as a result
of our VRML99 workshop and subsequent discussion of the need for
mirror of the site for massive scalablilty (especially for use with
set-top boxes that will pull media off the net rather then install
each piece locally). Alejandro's home page is at:

If you or your company would like to host a Universal Media mirror,
please let me know.

Best regards,
Aaron
