Roland,
Appendix E (Equations) of "The Java 3D API Specification" by Sowizral,
Rushforth & Deering describes the equations used to calculate sound for Java
3D.
If you do find any more sound demos I'd be interested to hear about them.
Sincerely,

Subject: [java3d] 3d sound
I have two questions concerning 3D sound:
1) does the pan depend on the orientation of the viewer in Java3D?
I have run the "ExSound" sample from Dave Nadeau's course notes,
but when a walk in a circle around the point sound source (orbiting
it), the sound switches from the left to the right ear & vice versa.
or when I stand left of the point sound sorce (90 degrees angle to it),
I hear it on the right ear (which ist correct). But when I turn around
180 degrees it does not switch to the left ear.
Is this a bug in the sample or in Java3D - or have I done anything wrong?
2) Can someone point me to some more Java3D 3D sound demos and sample
sources?
Thanks in advance,
Roland Holm
