The STB Velocity 4400 (TNT chip set) works fine under NT and 95/98 ...
means
the performance is very good and that the openGl
drivers of this card are quite good (at least the ones that come with
the card, not
the new ones called Detonator which can be found on the web and that
give some serious
problems for the java3d examples under NT), but not perfect ... the only
problem I've found so far:
Geometry defined colors dont override material colors, which is
wrong ...
When I put a background in my canvas3D, the hardware acceleration is
disabled ...
I dont know any specific about the Diamond Viper (based on the TNT chip
as well)...
I tried to install a Voodoo3 3000 under NT, but those guys at 3dfx dont
even have OpenGL
drivers at all (just Glide and DirectX ... but NT doesnt support
directX)!! ... big disappointment : (
Might work under 98 with the directX beta version of J3d though...
