Strange this e-mail coming in right now... I was just thinking about this. :-)
One of the problems with the FireGL 1000 Pro card is that it doesn't kick into
stereo mode in the standard way you would normally do it for OpenGL.
One way around this could be to add a flag in a properties file that tells
what kind of card it is, and have Java 3D query that. Kinda ugly, but I'm
not sure there's a way for a graphics board to say what kind of card it is
so that the code can handle it.
I seriously doubt that Diamond (the FireGL people) will turn around and
fix the OpenGL interface to the board, so the above is one (ugly) way
around it all.
