I'm looking for the closest approximation to a VRML ProximitySensor (and more). By this I mean that I need contnuous notification whenever anything about a given view changes, including geometry (position, orientation) as well as viewing or display parameters (FOV, projection, window size). >From what I can see in the API there doesn't seem to be any wakeup criteria for notification of view parameter changes (for FOV and projection). I can probably use AWT events to get display window changes. And, I can't seem to find something like WakeupOnViewPlatformMovement (for position, orientation). The closest thing I could find is WakeupOnCollisionMovement but I don't want to burden myself or the system with possible overhead from collision detection. I seem to recall from somewhere that there was some way to get notification if the local-to-vworld transform changed but it eludes me. Any suggestions, hints, or observations? Sun: If there is no equivalent for ProximitySensor, is there any hope for getting some or all of this in Java 1.2? --jon ____________________ Peculiar Technologies ____________________ Jon Barrilleaux 3800 Lake Shore Ave. Purveyors of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Oakland, CA 94610 Alternate Reality 510.444.4370 voc Augmented Simulation 510.444.0231 fax www.augsim.com and 3D Solutions =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
