I'm pleased to announce that we have the source code for our game 'Googleplex' now
available at www.openmediagroup.com. This is a
good example of using Java3D and MathEngine. Some of you may have seen this at
various trade-shows such as Siggraph or the Tokyo
Game Developers Conference where we've been showing it for MathEngine.

We are exploring what it means to take dynamics for granted in a game by doing a
number of lightweight simulations and games built
on top of the MathEngine SDK. We're using the standard MathEngine library but also
have a pre-release of a Collision Library as
part of our distribution.

Our next project is to build a lightweight dynamics authoring tool on top of the
current code base. We intend to port the entire
thing to the Playstation II and we will also have Linux support within a few weeks.
As well we've built a more complex dynamical
car with a real suspension that we'll probably post as well. Our website will have
Japanese documentation in the near future as
well. This is definately a work in progress and our goals may change so be advised.

The MathEngine website is at http://www.mathengine.com. Our project website is at
www.openmediagroup.com. Please direct art or
game design inquiries about our project to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and technical
queries to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Let me also take a moment to thank everybody on our team and everybody at MathEngine
for their tremendous involvement and
dedication.

I'll be speaking about various aspects of making games using dynamics at the XGDC
(October 2,1999 - www.xgames3d.com ).

Cheers!
Anselm Hook
