You might want to look at the java.awt.geom package. There's a bunch of
iterators in there that allow you to build arcs, curves, lines etc. I
was going to post a chunk of source from they way we've implemented it,
but its a bit two convoluted to just strip out the essentials. Bascially
the tactic is to create a path iterator for an ellipse with the
appropriate flatness. Then take the Point[]s from this and create an
indexed line array from the point information. This will give you a 2D
ellipse. If you need 3D, then you're on your own :)
