Well, as to running in the browser, u should change HTML file first, so
that it would use not built-in VM of NS or IE, but Java Plug-in.
Possibly Mitch's code below is quite correct. Anyway, if HTML file has
APPLET tag, then u can be pretty sure that no Java plug-in will be
started. As to running the program as application, locally, then there
is a catch in WinNT (actually this is a kind of weird, but Java never
worked on my machine under WinNT unless i did the following trick). The
point is that SDK/JRE copies java.exe and javaw.exe into WinNT/System32/
directory. And after that whenever u run java.exe _not_ from 'bin'
directory, u actually run java.exe from System32 directory, _NO MATTER_
what path is set in your autoexec.bat or system environment. So, just
delete/rename that couple of files from System32 dir. and try to run the
program again.
