I started using Java3D on 3 platforms recently and there are a
couple of glitches in the other platforms I didn't have on the
native Sun Solaris.
NT / openGL:
the ColoringAttribute of an IndexedLineArray gets overwritten by
any previously set ColoringAttribute of other IndexedLineArrays or
IndexedTriangleArrays. Test: attach 3 branches containing a single
linearray to your locale, all with different ColoringAttributes -
what you get is the same color for all. Detach the branches - the
colors return! add one branch after the other - colors are
overwritten again. If you have only one branch attached, its
color is correct. Once I even got changing colors in one linearray
(as if it was reading its color value from some random place) if
i was rotating my view with the mouse. I couldn't reproduce that, though
Win98 / DirectX
The LineAttributes.setLineWidth() has no effect. Also,
for IndexedTriangleArray if you set PolygonAttributes.POLYGON_LINE,
only 2 out of 3 lines are visible of the triangles.
Again, Sun/Solaris openGL has none of these problems.
Are there patches or workarounds around for these problems?
thanks
