no. Free for commercial use - vrml loader (on vrml site), obj (Wave
front) and Lightwave (lwo) format. Free for non commercial use - a
whole bunch of others, among which 3DMAX loaders.

Not by means of standard API functions. But possibly (almost sure) someone out there
