OpenGL software acceleration produces AWFUL performance. Not suitable
for any realtime application. Moreover, i didn't manage to get
hardware OpenGL acceleration under Window98 system, though my card
does support it and under WindowsNT OpenGL accelerates just fine (i
wonder whether someone here succeeded OpenGL hardware acceleration
under Windows98?) But there is a very easy way to use either DirectX
or OpenGL versions without breaking up any settings. All u need to
change the version is to copy six files. I attached a couple of .bat
files i use for this purpose. In jreDirectX/jreOpenGL directory there
should be 2 dirs - bin and lib. In bin there should be 2 dll Java3D
libraries, in lib/ext - 4 .jar Java3D files (see Java3DDirs.gif for
directory structure). Those .bats also 'change' Java3D version in Java
plug-in. Just have a look at the bats and u'll figure everything out
on your own. Yes, both of them should be put into jdk directory.
