What I'm looking for here is a surface regression class, probably something
that accepts a Point3d[] object as an argument, and returns a QuadArray or
TriangleArray.

In searching the web, I found a dead link for "public class Bspline3d
extends QuadMesh3d{...." (the author of which I've tried to copy in this
e-mail.) however I wasn't able to find any other references to that class.

If anyone has some links to good plain-English tutorials on the subject
walking through the math, that would be a great help as well. Any info on
generating NURBS would be appreciated as well.

Thanks
Don

Subject: [JAVA3D] Surface Regression?

I'm wondering if anyone has developed applets/applications for generating
and/or smoothing height fields from an array.

Actually the height field part shouldn't be a problem for me if I have to
make my own class, but developing classes to smooth a surface will be a lot
tougher. I'm looking for a polynomial regression type function, possibly
with methods to tessellate the mesh into a finer grid after the regression.

If anyone has done something like this and is willing to share your source
code, it will save me a lot of time on an upcoming project.
