Hello,
I have been trying to run one of the demo applet
that come with the Java3D download and am having no success in either Netscape
Navigator or Internet Explorer. I have installed the Java
1.2.2 version onto my system. The runtime is installed in
c:\Program Files\JavaSoft\jre\1.2 and the development is installed in
c:\jdk1.2.2\jre. Using Visual J++, I am able to compile an applet using
Java 2 and Java3D with no problem. I can run any of the Java3D demos as a
main application using java.exe or as an applet using appletviewer.exe. I
CANNOT run the same applet in either one of the browsers. In Internet
Explorer I get the following error when I run the HelloUniverse applet: "Load:
HelloUniverse can't be instantiated". In Netscape I get the following
error runing the HelloUniverse applet: "Applet HelloUniverse got a
security violation: method verification error". I don't know if this is
because the Java3D plug-in is not installed on my system or if the browsers
can't find the appropriate classes. If it is because the Java3D plug-in is
not installed, how do I installed it? Can anyone please help me? I
need to get this resolved ASAP.
Also can someone explain to me the steps involved
from a client's machine what is involved in setting up the client to be able to
run a Java3D applet in Netscape or Internet Explorer.
Thanks, I appreciate any help you can
give.
