If you go to the main Java 3D API Home Page (at
http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/3D), you will see this:
NOTE: The Java 3D API documentation does not include
documentation for the com.sun.j3d.* packages.
Documentation for these packages is available as part of the
Java 3D implementation download. Select either the "ZIP file
for Windows" or "Compressed TAR file (for UNIX)" link under
the "Download the Java 3D 1.1.2 Implementation
Documentation" section.
Click on the "Java 3D implementation download" link, and proceed to the
download page.
This seems to be a common source of confusion. I will work with our
web folks to make this more clear.
