Hi, I finally came up with an utility which possibly would ease life for many of us (well, mostly 4 newbies only). It allows to install Java2 platform, Java3D library and .jar extensions flawlessly, automatically copies extensions from ext to lib directory if JRE is of 1.2.1 version or below, deletes java.exe and javaw.exe files from Windows' System folder, helps to install correct version of Java3D (DX or OpenGL), fixes registry, etc, etc - automatically does practically all things that should had been done manually a while ago (at least with JRE 1.2.1/1.2.0). Note that this utility accesses and can modify your registry. It is distributed "AS IT IS". Neither me, nor my company (Arcadia Inc.) would be responsible for any possible damage done to your system. Please, do NOT distribute it with your products (if you would really find it useful) for two reasons: 1) though it was tested, it still may contain some bugs 2) originally it was a part of installer i did 4 our customers and it wasn't supposed to be shipped as a separate program Note that u may use it only for non-commercial purposes and you may NOT distribute it yourself in any form. If you want to let know someone else about this program, just give him/her a link. In a couple of days i'll publish all the things this util can do with your system and also will write some more formal 'agreement'. So far, u can try it yourself (i tested it under Win98 and WinNT4.0 and it did no damage at all to my system :) ). Any feedback is highly welcomed and greatly appreciated, as usual. Ah, the link is the same: http://www.arcadia.spb.ru/java3d/ vladimir PS: the util's name is Java2Fixer.exe PPS: sorry for its size - it was originally written in Delphi and i don't have enough time right now to rewrite it in MFC or WindowsAPI. >-----<===========>-----< -=V=- >-----<===========>-----< =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
