hello,  "ArtMotion";
I hope you have already found a solution to your problem, but if you haven't, try the following:
1)go to start>settings>control panel> add/remove programs, and make sure that JDK and J3D do show up on the list. if  they didn't, try uninstalling both and reinstalling them.

note: when you install Java3d, the corresponding Jar files do not get copied into the JRE folder under c:\program Files\javaSoft\Jre, therefore you should copy them there OR i suggest uninstalling the JRE:

2)go ahead and uninstall the "java Run-time Environment ... " by clicking on it and then clicking add/remove.  as you can guess, this will remove the Java Run-time Environment from your pc but you will still have a runnable copy of the jvm in c:\jdk1.x\.
3)search your hard drive for Java.exe and rename any occurrences except the on in c:\JDK1.X\bin.    (note: if you use VisualCafe or any other IDE, do not the java.exe in their folder, BUT make sure that you DO NOT have those folders in your "path")

also, just to be on the safe side, open up your autoexec.bat and REM out the line that sets your class path. as you may know, you can find out what the libpath and classpath variables are set to by typing "set" and then pressing enter at a pormpt.

I hope that these instructions solve your problem, or at least lead you in the right direction.
Take Care,
