Somewhere along the way you should be overriding the postRender() or
postSwap() function of Canvas3D; inside these function is where you should
do your drawing from my understanding. The thing I'm not sure of is whether
the things you draw will go into the back buffer... I would think so, in
which case you would do your drawing in the postRender() function.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [JAVA3D] Mixing 2D and 3D
I would like to display messages as text on top of my Canvas3D. I'm using
the retained
mode instead of the pure-immediate mode. I'm trying to use the
getGraphics2D method
from Java 3D 1.2, but I have no idea how to use it. I tried overriding
paint and updating
the 2D graphics there, but I've had no luck. Has anyone tried to use 2D
graphics?
