Correct me if
I am wrong but are you asking how to get the Z coordinate for a blank point into
which you click?
Cos that
would be senseless. Picking I think requires that you actually pick an object in
the world since that object has an attributed x, y and z location, whereas just
clicking into nothing on the canvas3D has no way of determining how far along
the Z axis the click was.
The Picking classes have get
methods which return Point3D objects from which you can get your x, y, z but
these will need an object.
