Correct me if I am wrong but are you asking how to get the Z coordinate for a blank point into which you click?

Cos that would be senseless. Picking I think requires that you actually pick an object in the world since that object has an attributed x, y and z location, whereas just clicking into nothing on the canvas3D has no way of determining how far along the Z axis the click was.

The Picking classes have get methods which return Point3D objects from which you can get your x, y, z but these will need an object.

Subject: [JAVA3D] Picking - all help is appreciated

Hello.
Im sorry for the "desperate" subject but im loosing my mind with this problem...

What im trying to do is to find out the (x,y,z) of a point when i click a mouse button

Finding out x and y is easy with the MouseEvent class. My problem is knowing the z value!
If the mouse is clicked on top of an object thats has z=10 in that point how can i find out this value?

All help is appreciated....

Thank you and keep up the good work
