Steve,
Thanks for the opportunity. Before I jump into this I would like to know a few
things to make sure this is worth your and my time and effort.
I am thinking about a book on Java 3D around the lines of "Java 3D API by
Example".
The book would try to stay to one main type of application/applet for the
example. It
would then contain a or several examples of how to use each feature of the
API. That
the description in a nutshell. I do not have any material at the current
time. I have developed
in Java and Java3D. At the last JavaOne 2000 Conference I spoke in a BOF
(Birds of a
Feather) session on Java3D. My work group also participated in the JavaOne
Keynote
speech during the Friday Keynote. I have also been involved in 3D graphics
and realtime
visual simulation (3D) during the last decade. I have not authored any
books but have
written several papers for my work.
What is SAMS Publishing time frame for these books? What types of formats
do you
accept from those writting books? What kind of return might I expect for
the investment
in writing the book?
Thanks.
