Hi folks,

I'm having some problems with lights and motion. I've verified that I have
the latest
drivers for my graphics card, including OpenGL 1.1; now I'd like to know if my
Java3D installation is up to date. in JRE\lib\ext, I have (among others) a
file called

j3dcore.jar, 1,954,722 bytes, dated May 10, 2000 (could be my download date).

Is that the latest greatest Windows/OpenGL version?

One reason I ask is that attenuation doesn't work for me for PointLights and
SpotLights. The attenuation parameters have no effect whatsoever. I even tried
setting them all to 0 to provoke a divide-by-0 exception, but nothing happened.
The JDC Bug Parade lists this as a fixed/closed bug.

I'm also not finding the spread angle and concentration parameters on
SpotLight
to be effective. Instead, there is a sharp cutoff where my entire scene is
flooded
at angles above 90 degrees and dark at below 90 degrees spread angle.

The second problem is that when I move my lights around using a
RotationInterpolator,
I have correct illumination for about half a second, but then the lights
start moving
and the lighted elements of the scene go dark. I didn't find a problem like
this
mentioned in the Bug Parade.

Any insight from you smart people would be appreciated.
