Sun Team,
Please put a BIG notice about this on the site when people download the
Java 3D SDK so that we don't need to answer this question over and over
and over again.
The simple answer is:
You need to install Java 3D into your JRE.
This confuses a LOT of developers. Java 3D will work fine in your
development environment but then fail from a command line or from an
applet because Java 3D has been installed into the JDK not the JRE.
I've seen a lot of other people answer this question but far too often
they are confusing answers full of paths, classpaths and/or copying the
files manually (and worst of all the registry edit solutions). It
really doesn't need to be that confusing.
Edith, I hope that's enough to get you working. Drew, that should be
your problem too.
