Good news!  For our first test case, a powerful machine - a Dual PIII 866 W2K GeForce DDR, disabling classification did not have a measurable effect on performance.  Next test wsill be on a lesser machine and the JNI app.
Excellent, final confirmation to come, so I will keep you posted.
