A CAVE is a 3 wall setup (left wall, right wall, ceiling), with a
projector dedicated to each wall (I believe). The user stands inside
the "cave" with stereo glasses and head mounted tracking device which is
connected to the rendering computer.
It makes for a very immersive experience. I tried one out at SIGGRAPH
one year... awesome.
Maybe it was floor instead of ceiling. Can't remember now.... ;)

If I want my application to run in a cave, I have to take my computer
under
ground. Of course, then it's dark and no electricity.
What's a CAVE?
