Hi Shawn,
If you see the message,
"Failed to create 3d device 887602ea"
the swap buffer error will display (only if -Dj3d.debug=true
is used) since context fail to create. You'll not see
this message if debug mode is not used.
We've try GeForce 256 under both windows98 and windows2000,
deto driver 3.1, DirectX 8.0 but can't reproduce the problem.
The only problem is ModelClip did not work under windws98, DirectX8.0
but win2K works fine.
Please try Deto driver 3.1 if you're using Deto driver 3.0.
You may try to use Emulation mode and switch to other display mode
for diagnosis. If you still have Directx7.0 sample program
(ship with Microsoft DirectX 7.0 SDK) in your machine,
can you please try to run those sample to see if this is
incompatiblity between the driver and DirectX 8.0 ?
Thanks.
- Kelvin
