I just downloaded GL4Java for the Mac at the OpenGL web site. The web site
includes numerous references and suggestions for persons interested in
OpenGL. Since I use a Mac OS 9, I have downloaded reference materials from
Apple and Sun, which include ample information regarding Java and Java3D. I
have learned that the information needed to become proficient is on-line, as
well as the tools needed to develop, if you have the proper platform. After
a couple of weeks of review you can develop a satisfactory understanding of
the features and capabilities of Java and Java3d. Now I am reading to work
on the mathematics needed to specify the geometries for modelling
non-existing volumetric virtual worlds and render them in real time using
GL4Java. BTW the OpenGL site connects you to the SGI site which also
includes substantial information regarding Volumetric data processing. I am
working in a non-profit organization that engages in IT scientific research
and development. If you have existing Java 3d capable platforms that are
going to be replaced, please let me know - contributions are tax deductible.
