I have two things I would suggest by looking at your snapshot:

1.  The jagged edge instersection between the cone and the earth is
probably caused by Z-buffer resolution.  You may need to change your
near/far clipping plane settings.  See the View class.

2.  You probably want the political boundary lines to overlay the
sphere.  You may want to try the DecalGroup class.
