I dont know if you guys caught the press release a couple of days ago, but Sony officially announced a port of Linux to their PlayStation 2. Currently its only available to 1000 members of the linux community in Japan for $200. Includes X11 and Mesa drivers. They say kits for overseas models are under developement... http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/04/26/1340202&mode=nocomment What I am wondering is if/when they do bring it to the overseas models, will blackdown be able to easily port Java and Java3D to it. What they probably should consider doing is lowering the cost of the kit or sell a stripped down version of it (maybe with out the keyboard and mouse) and allow people to browse the web, that way they can play a slew of Java games from their console. Im not sure if that was ever possible for dreamcast or not.
