Right at the moment this is a hard problem. The reason is that the 3D
rendering does not react well with the 2D renderer. Anecdotal eveidence
on this list seems to suggest that attempting to do 2D rendering over 3D
graphics really badly effects rendering performance. Your application
will have to have separate 3D and 2D areas.
