Are there any folks on the list using Java3D in GIS type applications? I'm just on the point of writing the code that handles locale and other high-res coordinate information to handle GeoVRML in the Xj3D codebase. I'd love to chat privately with anyone out there doing GIS type work with Java3D to make sure we are tackling the problems in the right way. The sort of information and advice I'm looking for is dealing with the Locale setup for highprecision information and how that effects mapping the various projection systems - particularly as GeoVRML provides all data as doubles, rather than the normal floats. I don't need specific information about particular rendering techniques (I have a very good understanding of how to implement mappings between the various coordinate systems from a previous project), more advice on the optimal setups used to enable good geospatial information display. -- Justin Couch http://www.vlc.com.au/~justin/ Freelance Java Consultant http://www.yumetech.com/ Author, Java 3D FAQ Maintainer http://www.j3d.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Humanism is dead.
