Paul, In this thread I believe I was the one who used the word "spam". Pretty much all of the posts that I have seen from you say stuff like "3D on the web is here now! Join us!". What does that mean? To me, it just looks like you are trying to expose people to 3D technologies. We already know about them which is why we are subscribing to this list. Your emails are like walking into an auto repair shop and telling mechanics "You too can learn how to fix your own car! Join us! We'll show you how! Whoopee!" The mechanics stand around and say "Huh? What the heck is he talking about?". Anyway, my point is that your emails are like commercials. We would like this to be a "public, commercial free" "radio station". I come to this list for *Java3D* updates, *Java3D* news, interaction with *Java3D* developers. Not "3D is on the web now! come join us!". You said: "I don't ask a lot questions and report a lot of bugs. Normally when I encounter a programming problem I consult my books, and pound away at it, so I don't post questions & complaints." Actually, that's EXACTLY the kind of stuff we expect here. Actually, I asked myself if this was really true of you... just look at the title of your posts during this year according to a search of the java3d listserv: 021674 01/01/25 19:44 119 ANN: Human Animation with Inverse Kinematics: Chess Player does YOUR moves. 021807 01/02/01 10:44 276 ~~~ Web 3D ~~~ ... all you need ... is a Java enabled browser ... 021884 01/02/05 10:56 170 Exports from Studio Max & Poser 4 ----> Java3D & the Networked 3d Web 022031 01/02/12 18:06 215 Virtual Worlds + Real World Physics + Networking --> great fun. 022112 01/02/15 17:48 163 Virtual Reality -- Networked -- and with ~~~ NO BROWSER ~~~ 022143 01/02/12 18:06 221 [www-vrml] Virtual Worlds + Real World Physics + Networking --> great fun. 022247 01/02/22 11:53 299 We can Prevail over Microsoft's illegal Assaults (Standards: HTML, Linux, VRML & Java) 022277 01/02/23 11:36 123 VRML Scene Graphs: Get Inside your VRML for more control 022310 01/02/26 15:17 125 Networked 3D Games... Please, do some programming instead and ask questions, find bugs, tells us new ways to use Java3D to get the job done. Not commercials about "H-Anim". -Lee > -----Original Message----- > From: John Wright [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, June 07, 2001 7:21 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [JAVA3D] Spam ?! ...
