Hello Java3D community, Could anyone in the J3D team let me know if they think this is possible to do: I would like to render a Windows application in an offscreen buffer so that I can use it as a texture in my 3D world, the result is obviously clear: I can use 3D windows in my 3D world and that gives me a spatial desktop instead of this borrowing 2D 17'' desktop. The only way I seem to be able to achieve this at the current time is by using a double headed card, or two graphics card, running my 3D world application on one monitor, and using the other monitor to place my Internet Explorer, and then cutting pixels out of the second screen and using them as a texture in my first screen. However, I am designing wearable applications and it is not that common to have two graphics card on one wearable :) Therefore I need to be able in some way to renderer my Internet Explorer in an offscreen buffer. I can start IE from Java using a embeddable IE from Microsoft. If I create an offscreen surface with Java3D, how can I tell windows to use this surface to render IE? thanks for your help Yohan Baillot _______________________________________________________________________ Yohan BAILLOT Electrical and Computer Engineer Virtual Reality Laboratory, Advanced Information Technology (Code 5580), Naval Research Laboratory, 4555 Overlook Avenue SW, Washington, DC 20375-5337 [EMAIL PROTECTED] (202) 404 7801 Home : (703) 566 3684 Cell : (703) 732 5679 Fax : (202) 767 1122 Web : www.ait.nrl.navy.mil/people/baillot _______________________________________________________________________ =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
