I am trying to maintain a minimum framerate during the animation of potentially very
complex structures. To do this animations I have to modify
a lot of TransformGroups.

My Idea was to mantain the visually most dominant components at the begin of an
ordered group and the nodes that add more and more visual detail
to the scene towards the end of that list.

I would like now the renderer to progress with that list until the precalculated frame
time has elapsed, then stop rendering, swap to display and start the next frame (and
render the whole list after the last frame when the scene is steady again).

I am now a bit stuck here how to best accomplish that task, can I use a LOD for this
purpose that has a WakeupOnTimeElapsed and then switches off all
nodes?

Or am I on the complete wrong track (after all I started using J3D only 2 weeks ago).

TIA
 Jens Briesofsky
