To me this means that nobody (except for some serious pros with reverse IP
lookup) are deploying their Java3D apps on the web with auto-installation.
Instead, they *must* be sending users to the Java3D download URL... even
getting the JavaVM auto-install from the applet page would not help because
if they get that far, they will get Java without Java3D and 'class not
found' exceptions will ensue. Thus, they must be sending users to the Java
download URL as well.
Seems to me that the auto-install features of Java 1.3 are being wasted.
Are other ppl dealing with this using Java WebStart? I keep hearing about
it but have not looked at it closely.
