Jurgen, Can you: a) send me the program so I can run it? b) tell me the message you are seeing so I can send you a modified version of J3dTree with extra debug information?
Your going to have to give me a bit more information if we're going to nail this thing this morning! ;-) Sincerely, Daniel Selman -----Original Message----- From: Discussion list for Java 3D API [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jrgen Vansteelant Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2001 6:23 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: j3dtree Daniel, I've tried this out and it works , but in my application it doesn't, it has something to do with the capabilities I don't set, but I can't find out where I should at a setCapability. Thank you very much. Jurgen -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Selman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2001 14:05 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [JAVA3D] j3dtree Jurgen, Sorry for the delay Jurgen. I just downloaded J3dTree from: http://www.tornadolabs.com/News/J3dTree_Home/j3dtree_home.html Unzipped it to a directory. Downloaded: http://www.tornadolabs.com/News/J3dTree_Home/HelloUniverse.java Compiled the example with: C:\jdk1.3\bin\javac.exe HelloUniverse.java Ran the example with: java -cp j3dtree.jar;. HelloUniverse I didn't see any problems. There is one message printed to the console: javax.media.j3d.CapabilityNotSetException: Group: no capability to read children This is because HelloUniverse uses SimpleUniverse and the view side of the scenegraph is inaccessible (already compiled, prior to us being able to get our hands on it). I've attached a JPEG with the output. I'm running: - JDK 1.3.1 - Java 3D 1.2.1 - Windows 2000 Please verify these steps on your machine. If you get any exceptions please post the stack traces.
