Allo Chris,
I'm having the same problemes. I've posted
a mail on that subject 5 days ago. And no answer.
Here is what I did :
-
Tried to set the front and back clip distance so that they reflect the
size of the model I'm wan't to see. It works, but only, I can't
only set it once at the beginning. I tried to set again those values
but they are not taken into account. Which was the simplest thing
I taught. But no success. I'm waiting for the feedback of someone
else. Still waiting....
-
Now here is what I did. Instead of changing the front and back
clipping planes every time I want to zoom to model that has a different
size then the clipping planes, I added a TransformGroup that is a scaling
of the View Branch. This works fine with me. I
don't know the nuts and bolts, thus the impact of my approach but it works.
I have models that are build in meters units ( which have reasonable
sizes ) and I also have models that are very small ( the radius of
the bounding sphere is about the size of the front clipping value).
To be honnest with you it works fine for me.
I hope those small hints will help you. Keep me informed if
you find anything else !

Hi,
I built a scene with small dimensions
(around 0.15 meters) using SimpleUniverse. If now I zoom the scene to fill
out the canvas it reaches the front clipping plane and is not displayed
anymore. I'd like to know how I can change this. Also I'd like to change
the view angle or to move the platform closer to the objects from beginning
so that I first don't have to move around to get a nice view.
Can anyone please give me a hint how to
do this. Thanx a lot in
advance!! Chris
