3D Studio Max exports can be animated on the Web

using VRML and WITHOUT a plug-in with Java,
or to get higher speed and rendering quality
use a VRML plug-in Viwer or Java3d.

| Does anyone know how to put 3D models on the Web,
| so they can be rotated and zoomed in interactively
| by the viewer of the site?
|
| I´m using Max Rel.2.5 and programs (Swift3D, Macromedia Director)
| ...
| I only want the viewer of my site to be able to
| rotate and zoom the object/scene, preferably
| (not a must) without the need of a browser plug-in.
|
| TIA.......toclose

  Yes.

"Interactive Models on the Web from Studio Max with VRML"
  ---------------------------------------------------------
  http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/H-Anim_Avatars.html

-- double click on "Studio Max BiPed" to see the animation
-- runs on Windows, Macintosh, & Linux with no plug-in
-- runs with Java3d using Sun's VRML Loaders for Java3d.
  -- zoom, rotate, animation support.

   Shout3d, Blaxxun3d, and Anfy3d animate VRML without
plug-ins and allow you to rotate the model, etc.

Well, you rotate the image with some image processing utilitiy.

You could read, parse, and modify the source file.

The " 3d Viewer of VRML and other Objects " reads, renders, & writes
VRML files and could be modifided to do the modifications for you,
it runs on Windows, Macintosh & Linux and runs in a browser, or
by itself ( see screen capture .jpg image above ) with support
for texture map(s). It's a limited utility, it does what I want
it do.

Java3d lets you create interactive animation on the web today, we can
and do animate Web3d's H-Anim avatars despite the fact that Aaron Walsh
and Prentice Hall claim you can't: You can. ( Avoid books from liars and
clueless publishers ! ) and the NSF Grant #9809209 flame war hurt both
Java3d & Web3d (more lies from Aaron Walsh with half a million dollars
of tax money)

I do Java3d with Sun's Forte (free) on Linux ( Red Hat 7.2 ).
