Thanks Kevin - this is good news.
I did recall that there was a post from the Java3D team to the effect that
the USE_COORD_INDEX_ONLY bit will use glDrawElements() and would prevent
"unindexification" and may also produce enhanced rendering on some
graphics cards. I am actually more interested in the unindexification
part since my geometries are huge and dynamic and I usually indexify them
to conserve memory. The enhanced rendering would, of course, be a bonus.

Thanks for the extract - couldn't actually find it anywhere in the Java3D
bundle though.
