Ah, the wonders of unfiltered email when travelling....

For reference to those here, the Web3D consortium board have issued an
ultimatum to Flavin to shut up and do something constructive or be
banned from all their lists, not just some of them as he is now.

So Paul, are you so against the new code that you haven't actually
looked at the code in, oh, say the last 4 months? Early Sept at least we
had fully-compliant PROTO support, which the old code never did. H-anim
is our test code for proto support.

Your demonstration code does not, and nor will Sun's code. If Sun's code
never supported Javascript, how could they support H-anim animations?
Why are you deliberately lying to this and many other lists & newsgroups
when you say it does?

You purposefully:

- Altered the Nancy demonstration file that contained 3Name3D's (now
owned by Computer Associates) copyrights and removed them, replacing
them with your own or leaving them out all-together (seems to change
each time I download the file).

- Removed large sections of the file that would never load with Sun's
loader. Basically you stripped the file to its barest minimum that the
codebase could support.

- In order to "claim" that Sun's code would support nancy/H-anim, you
then had to steal the application from UPenn (if you didn't, your
screenshots look awfully familiar and there is no attribution of
copyright to UPenn). This application does not support H-anim animation
- it provides it's own animation system that is written in Java/Java3D,
*not* VRML. (Matt can correct me if I'm wrong, but on face value looking
at the two websites, that's what I see).

- You lie and make public slanderous statements about members of various
communities in places where they are never able to defend themselves. In
doing research I found you making posts about myself and Alan Hudson in
animation newsgroups and email-lists that we never have, and probably
never will frequent.

At least have the guts to invite us to respond. Oh, I'm sorry, but you
wouldn't be able to deal with that would you? You can't even respond to
my posts on various lists where I refute your statements.

You don't even show up to public meetings/conferences on these very
topics to defend and promote your version of reality. If you truly
believed in these statements, _someone_ out of the hundreds I know in
Java, 3D and VRML communities would have met you face to face. Instead,
it is just some faceless raving lunatic behind an email alias. So brave
aren't you!

Cowardly idiot.

Get your bloody facts straight looser. We have never claimed that you
can't animate it with Java3D. What we have claimed, and will continue to
do so, is that you cannot animate H-anim with Sun's VRML Loader as a
runtime system. Use Sun's loader as a static geometry loader and you can
do (almost) anything with the geometry - including animating using
custom code in your application. Sun's loader does not support loading
H-anim 1.1 compliant avatars. Will it load H-anim 2K? - Not a chance. It
barely loads 1.0 compliant avatars - if you use EXTERNPROTOs, it cannot
load the avatars. If you want to use the Sun loader as a full VRML
runtime system, that loader will never, ever support H-anim. Why? Java
based scripting was dodgy at best, Javascript/ECMAScript is not
supported. Most H-anim characters use Javascript.

If the loader did support something more useful, why don't your
screenshots show anything _other_ than Nancy? Maybe because that is the
only avatar you could ever get to work, and then only after carefully
hand-editing the file to remove/modify anything that might crash the
loader. Hmmm... 7000 lines down to 2000. Doesn't sound like a few small
tweaks to me.

Maybe the reason they don't respond is because they think you are an
idiot too? Maybe that is why Prentice Hall ignore you too?

Hey, maybe you and Zahid (from the EJB/XML lists and sometime
Advanced-Java) should get together and have a little chat about how
wrong the world is and that everyone is out to get you....

With any luck, the two of you shall be bannished to obscurity soon.

I think finger painting is more like it. BTW, Did I tell you that your
screenshots look highly professional? Oh, and I haven't found anyone yet
that can get your linux apps to actually run, mainly just core dumps.

When you can rationally debate points raised, maybe then we might start
treating you with some respect. Until then, you are just a psychotic
maniac.

And remember, just because everyone is out to get you, they will....
